Park Avenue Care Home is a 51 bed dementia nursing home and nursing home, which supports those living with dementia and other conditions needing skilled nursing care. Many residents are living with complex care needs however every resident is encouraged to be as active and involved in life in the home as they can be. Through PARC, the Park Avenue Resident’s Committee, everyone is invited to play an active role in planning life in the home and out in the community, where Park Avenue is involved with local schools and various church and neighbourhood groups.

The aim is to support a lifestyle chosen by the resident, at the same time as ensuring that residents enjoy quality care within a secure environment.

All bedrooms are spacious and residents and their families are encouraged to decorate to their personal taste. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities giving residents added privacy and independence. It is often difficult for couples who have been together for many years to be separated so where possible we work hard to keep partners together so they can remain enjoying life together.

The home is large and stylish with plenty of communal and quiet spaces. It also has its own hair salon and residents have access to a gym too! An Edwardian tearoom is equipped with vintage china, cake stands and silver teapots which supports reminiscence and is a popular meeting place for residents and families – a favourite spot for afternoon tea, birthday parties, and anniversaries.

Mealtimes are an important part of life at Park Avenue and all meals are prepared in-house by a team of chefs. This team makes sure to cater to specific dietary needs, offering gluten-free meals and culturally appropriate foods. Residents also look forward to Fruity Friday – a day where fresh fruits are blended to make all kinds of healthy, tasty smoothies. Good nutrition and hydration are a focus at the home.
